This service gives you an unique opportunity to create your own personal rug.
A cornerstone of SËBOU’s sustainability work is our “Made to measure” service. We involve you in each step of the process to create a tailor-made rug for your home or office. More freedom of choice than our collection, a true reflection of your style and a unique opportunity to create your own personal rug.
Step 1: Contact us! Tell us as much as possible about your wishes, style and color preference or just hit us with all your questions. We usually get back to you within a week.
Step 2: Our designer will start sketching on a design. (The photos in this post are of an early sketch)
Step 3: Involve yourself as much as you wish in the design process – choosing patterns and colors, to maximize your vision. Our “Made to Measure” is for all customers that want to join our SËBOU community and create their own SËBOU rug.
Step 4: You review the sketch with one of our designers. In this part of the process, it’s important for us to get a thorough deep understanding of who you are. Each SËBOU rug tells its own story and we want every customer to have a rug that in some way tells a story about them too.
Step 5: The production of the rug starts. We send the sketch to our weavers in Morocco. They send us photos and videos of the wool, dyed and colored, which we in turn share with every customer, to make sure colors match expectations. (Photo nr 3 & 4)
Step 6: The weavers start creating magic! (First photo of post) Once the weaving has started we invite you to take part in their entire process by sharing images and videos. Weaving, washing, drying, and trimming the rug.
Step 7: A SËBOU rug is made by hand. It takes the weaver 12 – 14 weeks to create something that will last you a lifetime. Our weavers put their heart and soul in the rug they are creating, every emotion they feel for those weeks is put into the rug. It’s important for us that our weavers work in the best possible conditions, to make sure they are safe and happy. Updates from our weavers are sent to us regularly, and we share them with our Made To Measure customers.
Step 8: After the weaving is done, your rug is trimmed, washed, and hung to dry in the warm Moroccan sun. (First photo) Your custom made SËBOU rug will be sent to you in the most sustainable way available, by ship. Welcome to the SËBOU community!
